podcast evaluation

Evaluation of 2 web sites you used in your pod cast:
Many web sites had tons of information on Kenya’s corporal punishment but one of the best web sites I found was http://www.kenyaeducationfund.org/ This website is an actual organization for Kenya supporting Kenyans to receive a full education. This website includes their fund’s background, mission, programs, donations, photos, contacts and articles. It provides information for all you need to know and so in the end I had no questions. It was perfect to use in my non-governmental organizations.
Another strong website that gave me the specific information I needed to know was http://www.hrw.org/reports/1999/kenya/Kenya999-03.htm#P762_146893 This website was exact for my part and I read about the divergent viewpoints on my issue. I included a lot of the information in my pod cast from this website.

Reflection: evaluate your group’s performance:
I liked my group a lot because we all got along and did our parts of the work. We helped edit sections out and distribute who reads what in the pod cast. We had to start over once and stay after school but it was worth it and for the best because in the end we improved.

How was your understandings of the issue changed in this project?
At the very start of this project, I did not even know what corporal punishment was. After completing the research and hearing my other group member’s information, I now have an understanding on the issue of corporal punishment in Kenya. I learned a lot about Kenya itself as a country and how it handles its education system. I noticed how different it was than our (U.S.) education system. There are tons of barriers that exist in Kenya that kids unfortunately have to face. These barriers deprive kids from receiving the full education access that Article 26 promises to all. Barriers really affect the younger generation which then affects Kenya as a whole. I have understandings about the variety of viewpoints people out there have on Kenya and its corporal punishment. Many non-governmental organizations are wanting to abolish corporal punishment. I read about the other views like why Kenya (the domestic government) is not taking action itself. After reading about all of these viewpoints I took a stand on the issue myself because I was persuaded most by the viewpoint of abolishing it.
